In the Loop: Out of the Loop

Groundhog Day movie poster

Average time until the loop begins (mean): About 16 minutes The cause of the loop or inciting incident: I watched The Map of Tiny Perfect Things and decided to do this Number of time loops (at least the ones I counted): 213 Lessons learned: Time […]

In the Loop: Repeat Performance

An image from the movie Repeat Performance

For the last movie for In the Loop, I decided to go with the earliest one I could find — Repeat Performance from 1947. It’s also a slight cheat since there’s really only one time loop, but it still counts. (I’m not claiming this is the first time loop movie — just the earliest one I could find.)

In the Loop: The Fare

A scene from the movie The Fare

For the majority of The Fare, there are two characters — Harris (Gino Anthony Pesi), a cab driver; and Penny (Brinna Kelly, who wrote the movie), his mysterious passenger. The set is the inside of Harris’ cab. That’s it. That’s essentially the movie.

In the Loop: Timecrimes

A still from Timecrimes

Most time loop movies follow the Groundhog Day formula — a “bad” person becomes “good” through trial and error, repeating things until they manage to get it right. But would that always be the case? In Timecrimes, if there’s a wrong choice to be made, Héctor is going to make it. And he’s going to keep making it over and over.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DOjdx0fEZK8/ Happy to have hung @pitzergirl's cool collage in my bathroom! I need a few more things to round out the overall look but I love it. I first read about this in Trina Robbins' work and it was always something I wanted to read. I'm delighted @nyrcomics published this and I look forward to digging into it. Shower curtain! It's by @hangtight. I knew I wanted to do blue and orange (I already had navy towels) and you know, it's a bathroom, so water ... Somehow that led to koi and I saw this and it was perfect. We think these were from my maternal grandfather's mother. They have a D initial, which works with a family name. Four have years on the back of the handles (1916, 1917, 1918, and 1919), which tracks with what we know. Split Enz - History Never Repeats (Best of) I still have so much stuff to move but I overdid it a bit yesterday & my back was really telling me no. I still made a couple of trips and, of course, went to Target. But I also assembled my patio furniture (not perfectly but I blame the product/vague instructions. It won't collapse or anything). I am excited to have a patio! Luna - Lunafied (sides A and C) yeah, The Zombies is not Black Sabbath, but it was a good night of music.
