Re-Enter Sandman: Brief Lives

A portion of the cover for the hard cover edition of The Sandman: Brief Lives. Art by Dave McKean

In some ways, Brief Lives is the best of The Sandman volumes. It tells a complete, fairly straightforward story with an actual conclusion. It’s the most consistent artistically. It’s charming, although it’s maybe a bit too precious in places. It’s probably the volume I’ve read the most.

Boston -- Boston I bought this at a used bookstore. The crafts seem to date from the early 1950s to the early 1970s. I have such a soft spot for vintage crafts -- yes, you get a lot of straight up weird things but there's also cool things I never thought of and want to try. It was a good purchase. Happy Thanksgiving! I thought my DVD of Tsui Hark's All About Women was long gone, but nope! I still have it! It was cold today but the forest was pretty. I love how close nature is to me here. Florence and the Machine - Everybody Scream I've started making gel plate prints. I'm still learning but it's been a fun process. It's a little unpredictable but that is part of why I enjoy it. I look forward to doing more (It's been ... maybe a week? And I haven't done it every day. I'm already impressed with my progress.) And part 2 of the double feature, of course. First half of my classic Halloween double-feature, Ghostwatch.
