The Revision Redux: Lady Snowblood 2 and The Princess Blade

Lady Snowblood 2: Love Song of Vengence is a very different movie from the first one, at least for a little while.

The Revision Redux: Valentina: Baba Yaga

The “Baba Yaga” episode progresses mostly the way you’d expect — Valentina is barely hit by a car and Baba Yaga takes her garter clip. There’s the hole in the house. There’s the doll. The bits about the cursed camera are absent, though.

The Revision Redux: Modesty Blaise

I actually watched the 1982 TV pilot for Modesty Blaise (directed by Reza Badigi) twice because the first time I watched it, my focus was fading in and out and I was certain I must have missed something.

The Revision Redux: St. Trinian’s

It’s fascinating how many times the cartoons of Ronald Searle’s St. Trinian’s have been adapted on film given there really aren’t that many of the cartoons themselves.

My mom, @tracymillerdesigns, took 80 of her collages and created a deck of Insight Cards called The Open Door. I've had my deck for a few days and it's a lot of fun. The results are kind and playful and surprising. They're now for sale in her Etsy shop. Mostly all various artists but a lot of Giorgio Moroder. Tori Amos forever. Gel plate print of a photo I took of the Markel Building in Richmond. This was a simple one but turned out exactly how I wanted. (The background is slightly metallic.) Sparklehorse - It's a Wonderful Life I did a stained glass workshop today and it was fun! The result was fine if you don't look too closely at it. I, thankfully, don't need to pick this up as a hobby (it's a bit too fussy for me) but I wouldn't mind trying again at some point. I only go to shows featuring British comedians at Warner Theater now. One of the saddest cookbooks of all time? A good time was had at Taskmaster Live tonight.
