I went to Michigan and I took photos

This is a photo blog now, apparently. I love my Diana. These are from Ann Arbor (including Matthaei Botanical Gardens), Villa Barr Art Park, Old Town Lansing, Detroit (including the Riverwalk and Corktown) and Mill Race Village in Northville. I think have a few more […]

I bought a Diana

A few weeks ago, I was at an event at the National Gallery of Art, where I saw The ’70s Lens: Reimagining Documentary Photography and I fell in love with Nancy Rexroth’s photos from her Iowa series/book (I did buy the book and I love it). I went home and decided I needed a Diana camera.

The Revision Redux: Joséphine s’arrondit

The opening montage of Joséphine s’arrondit catches up the audience on everything that has happened between the first Joséphine movie and this one. Mostly, everything is great between Joséphine and Gilles. They’re in love, living together and happy.  And then Joséphine gets pregnant.

The Revision Redux: Stumptown

Stumptown is the only of Greg Rucka’s comics I’ve really liked.

The Revision Redux: Nana 2

Nana 2 (2006, directed by Kentaro Otani) more or less picks up where the first left off (there’s a bit of a framing sequence).

I've started making gel plate prints. I'm still learning but it's been a fun process. It's a little unpredictable but that is part of why I enjoy it. I look forward to doing more (It's been ... maybe a week? And I haven't done it every day. I'm already impressed with my progress.) And part 2 of the double feature, of course. First half of my classic Halloween double-feature, Ghostwatch. This is a cover of an issue of Young Love I scanned and made into a poster years ago. I love this image so much but there wasn't really a good spot for it in any of the rooms of new place but hey, hallway between the kitchen and the bedroom works. 'I don't like horror, I just own physical copies of all of these movies for no reason." I have a signed copy of Bryan Talbot's The Tale of One Bad Rat. It's an amazing book but I have read it exactly once and every time I flip through it, I can't.
