The Revision: The Kitchen

Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy and Elisabeth Moss in The Kitchen

The Kitchen, written by Ollie Masters, with art by Ming Doyle and colors by Jordie Bellaire, definitely feels like it was another case of being conceived as a screenplay first and then adapted into a comic to sell the film rights. Except worse than that, it feels like the outline of a screenplay.

In the Loop: About Time

A still from the movie About Time

To get it out of the way, this is maybe marginal in terms of being an actual time-loop movie but I’ve decided to count it. Tim is in control of where and when he goes, and while he chooses to repeat a couple of things, he’s not going back to the same day over and over again.

I bought this at a used bookstore. The crafts seem to date from the early 1950s to the early 1970s. I have such a soft spot for vintage crafts -- yes, you get a lot of straight up weird things but there's also cool things I never thought of and want to try. It was a good purchase. Happy Thanksgiving! I thought my DVD of Tsui Hark's All About Women was long gone, but nope! I still have it! It was cold today but the forest was pretty. I love how close nature is to me here. Florence and the Machine - Everybody Scream I've started making gel plate prints. I'm still learning but it's been a fun process. It's a little unpredictable but that is part of why I enjoy it. I look forward to doing more (It's been ... maybe a week? And I haven't done it every day. I'm already impressed with my progress.) And part 2 of the double feature, of course. First half of my classic Halloween double-feature, Ghostwatch. This is a cover of an issue of Young Love I scanned and made into a poster years ago. I love this image so much but there wasn't really a good spot for it in any of the rooms of new place but hey, hallway between the kitchen and the bedroom works.
